MUNNA BHAI -LAGE RAHO

Vidhu Vinod Chopra..I m going to watch more of his films..

A couple of hours ago, I watched Munnabhai - Lage Raho. It was an audio visual treat. It has been too long (in the vicinity of 12 months) since I watched a Hindi film in a theatre. This one, at a distance of 3 rows from the screen.

Vidya Balan looks absolutely amazing. She has acted very well too. Her gentle and expressive countenance is a treat to watch. Salute to Boman Irani -- he plays a Sardarji and it was the first time I saw him after his Page 3 performance. The credulity he adds to the film unobtrusively, keeps the film grounded despite typical Bollywood ("that-would-never-happen-in-real-life") situations.

Circuit is fundoo - Arshad Warsee generates a lot of laughs (and in Fremont where I watched it, occasional applause ! ) , is not shadowed by Sanjay Dutt' lamba chauda presence. Do not mistake that for a panegyric in honor of Dutt' performance. The truth is I have never really been a fan of Sanjay-the-perfidious-Dutt -- never thought he was very expressive in his facial or body language and I stand by my long held views. However, his dialogues take care of him.

The screenplay is a great attempt and a significant success in the exploration of bi dimensional humour -- from Gandhijis language dotted with Mamoo_jargon to sniggers at the whole 'K for suKcess' mantra. Just after the intermission, the audience may believe themselves to be in danger of ennui, but the the script recovers and you ll find yourself smiling at another one of Arshad Warsee' 'vinamra' comments.

I am not going to give away the plot and how Gandhiji comes into the picture, but the point of this verbose blog is GoSeeIt! Although watching a teary eyed Sanjay Dutt emotionally shouting in appeal to end corruption in India is as cough inspiring as Salman Khan telling the BBC that he set an example in creating awareness about endangered species by killing black bucks, MunnaBhai will also help you gulp it.

Hey Welcome to the incredible world of blogs.

Well on a lighter note, its an amazing piece of literature from Shintrebaba. Please provide a link to webster dictionary on the side.

On the serious note, definitely a good effort.

Congratulations on starting blogging! Good work.
My two cents on both the perfidious Dutt and the insidious Khan
